Catalyst: A Mandala, a geometric configuration of symbols, is a common theme among laser artists and paper quillers. In various spiritual traditions, Mandalas are used as a spiritual guidance tool, for establishing a sacred space and as an aid to meditation and trance induction.

Challenge: Repetition of components of a design should be easier than it turned out to be. But the larger challenge was to determine when each layer should be introduced into the design.
