Catalyst: As explained by Wikipedia the triquetra is a triangular figure composed of three interlaced arcs, or three overlapping vesicae piscis lens shapes. It is used as an ornamental design in architecture, and in medieval manuscript illumination. We used this shape to construct wooden jewelry with the Glowforge machine.
Challenge: Early example of layering intersecting patterns while preserving the structure of the whole.
