Catalyst: The triple spiral pattern which exhibited rotational symmetry has been handed down as an ancient motif from ancient history. Found in Grecian times through the modern centuries this pattern has been symbolic in many cultures. In Celtic Ireland the three elements were thought to represent the cycle of birth, life, and death.

Challenge: The simple design might have led to a proportional layering which would have adequately illustrated the depth of the motif. Adding a dynamic rotation to the layers gives the design a more exciting visual affect, drawing the viewer into the vortices.
