Catalyst: What I was looking for was the structure of the Rose in a simple iconic form. And I found a number of inspiring images at: https://www.123rf.com/stock-photo/rose_icon.html

Challenge: Bring the icon of the Rose to life with depth. These designs were an early experiment in learning Inkscape and how it might allow interpolation of shapes. The added dimension suggested by the many layers was further enhanced with the selection of colors – another dimension in the design.
